The After Party RECAP

A look back at our catalog release celebration with the Emergence community

The Emergence catalog is available now in the online shop

Fathomers’ extended community of artists, scientists, and synthetic biology enthusiasts, along with curious newcomers, recently gathered to celebrate the release of the Emergence catalog, a ten-volume collection based on the exhibition Emergence: Art from Life.

Emergence explores how artists and scientists engage with synthetic biology to imagine new forms of life, agency, and authorship. First as an exhibition and now in print, the project convenes thinkers from a variety of backgrounds to explore how synthetic biology and art-making can energize and inform each other.

The celebration unfolded at the historic York Manor, and included a Petri dish DJ, an Ask the Oracle booth featuring global experts at the frontiers of art and synthetic biology, and more.

The Emergence catalog is available now.
